Cathay Pacific would consolidate its services between Hong Kong and Indian cities, offering attractive fares and packages, and high-quality products as leisure travel in the sector is growing.
“We have completely utilized out bilateral rights and we are happy about the capacity out of India. Our main focus now is to consolidate our operations in India and to make these services more attractive,” the airline’s sales and marketing manager ‘Rakesh Raicar said.
Noting that business travel has significantly dipped in India as else where in the would, he said. holiday and leisure travel during April-June saw a growth on the economy segment .The Delhi-Bangkok-Hong Kong flight enjoyed an almost 100 percent load factor during the summer holidays ,Raicar said, but did not reveal the yields on these flights.
To questions on the bilateral air traffic rights signed less about 18 months ago, he said a daily flight from Delhi to Hong Kong via Bangkok was launched from March 30, taking the total number of flights each day two. The other Delhi-Hong Kong service is a non-stop one.
Cathay has also added four flights a week on the Hong-Chennai sector, while daily flights between Hong Kong and Bangalore were being operated by its fully-owned low cost subsidiary Dragon Air.
The Hong Kong based carrier, operating in India for the past 55 years, also realigned its 10 flights to and from Mumbai to Hong Kong; three of them via Bangkok. It also operates seven flights to Dubai via Mumbai from Hong Kong.
Cathay also operates eight cargo flights from Mumbai each week, seven from Delhi and four from Chennai.
Raicar said the airline was also offering promotional packages at attractive prices, including return air tickets and up to four nights, five days free hotel stay in Hong Kong .These packages are being offered for passengers from Mumbai,Delhi,Chennai and Bangalore to ensure ‘best value deals’ he added. Regarding fares, Cathay was offering from Mumbai fares starting from Rs 25,600 onward including taxes, Delhi from Rs 25,600 including taxes and Bangalore from Rs 28,500 onward. These offers were valid til September 25, he said. The airline, which released traffic figures recently, claimed experiencing ‘a marginal growth ‘in the number of passengers carried.
