Marathon talks to end the impasse between the management of Jet Airways and its pilots before the Chief Labour Commissioner remained inconclusive on Friday.
The talks will continue in Mumbai on Saturday.
The deadlock has caused large-scale disruption of flights, affecting nearly 14,000 passengers daily for the past four days.
On average 200 Jet flights, including those on international routes, have been cancelled as hundreds of pilots reported sick.
Hopes of a settlement were kindled on Thursday evening as a tentative, broad understanding was said to have been reached through the mediation of Congress MP Sanjay Nirupam and some others.
Kharge hopeful
Labor Minister Mallikarjin Kharge said that he was confident of a solution “within 48 hours.”
Besides Chief Lab our Commissioner S.K. Mukhopadyay, the conciliation proceedings were attended but Jet executive director Saroj Dutta, CEO Hafiz Ali and Head of Operations Capt. Mohan.
The pilots body national aviators guild is being represented by its president Capt.Girish Kaushik and Capt. Sam Thomas .Capt.Kaushik said that question of taking back the four sacked pilots was discussed.
However, he indicated that pilots would not be resuming their normal duties on Saturday.
On behalf of the Jet management, Saroj Dutta said talks on all issues remained inconclusive.
As per the broad understanding, all the four sacked pilots were to be reinstated, while the Registrar of the Trade Unions will look into the fulfillment of criteria of registration of the NAG.
