A Blend of hi-end and economy tourism will greet tourists landing in Himachal from the coming financial year. While tourists in the luxury segment could add to their itinerary a heli-taxi trip to an off-beat and secluded locale in the interiors of the state, economy tourists will get a chance to visit lesser known villages, where they can experience Himachal’s rural life by availing of the ‘home stay’ scheme.
Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal, who also holds the tourism portfolio, said in the Assembly on Thursday that the government was developing new helipads at Prashar (Mandi district), Nauradhar and Kolar (Sirmour), Dharwas, Sahali, Holi and Sechu (Chamba), Chokhang and Dalang (Lahaul-Spiti), Tarkwari (Hamirpur), Sundil in Jubbal (Shimla) and Nako (Kinnaur).
He was replying to a joint question by Kaul Singh, Gangu Ram Musafir and Rajesh Dharmani from Congress and BJP MLA Roop Singh.
