India's leading private air carrier Kingfisher Airlines has launched its first flight from Delhi to Kathmandu, and also plans to connect Mumbai to the Nepalese capital.
The Kingfisher, will now operate daily flights between Kathmandu and New Delhi, officials said.
The operations on the Delhi-Kathmandu route began on Friday, making Kingfisher the third Indian airline to fly on the route.
Air India, Jet Airlines, and Jet Lite are already operating flights on the route.
The airlines will start direct flights between Mumbai and Kathmandu in June. Kingfisher is using its modern Airbus A320 aircraft for the Kathmandu flights.
Before Kingfisher began flying on the route there were 42 daily flights from Delhi to Kathmandu.
On the other hand, the total number of flights from Mumbai is seven at present.
