Volcanic Eruption cost 260 Million Euros to France Tourism

Tourism Officials in France has said that ash from Iceland's Volcanic Eruption has cost 250 Million Euros to France Tourism which includes French Airlines, tour operators and tourism agencies.
France's Tourism Officials will assign a team of mediators to address issues between tourists who are trying to get their money back from airlines and tour operators.
Tourism officials are also trying to come up with the plan to deal with such issues in the future, especially when there are reports of possible another volcanic eruption in Iceland.
France is still continuing to see booking cancellations from nervous travelers which is increasing loss for Hotel Industry, despite the fact that Air Travel in France is back to normal. Tourism France believes that tourists canceling their trips due to panic and will come back to France in few months time.
France Tourism also reported 6 percent drop in foreign tourists arrivals for 2009. Visits dropped to 74.2 million from 79.2 in 2008. Tourism officials blamed economic crisis for the drop but were confident of bounce back in 2010. Tourism Minister is confident that France will remain No-1 Destination for foreign tourists around the world.
