The luxury train will come to Varanasi on every Friday morning. The passengers will get an opportunity to see the Subeh-e-Banaras (sunrise) at the majestic ghats, Ganga Aarti in the evening and sight-seeing of other places including Bharat Kala Bhawan, Bharat Mata Mandir and Sarnath. The cities covered in the itinerary of the Royal Rajasthan on Wheels include Delhi, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Chittorgarh, Sawai Madhopur, Jaipur, Khajuraho, Varanasi and Agra.
After the grand success of Palace on Wheels, the government of Rajasthan has introduced the Royal Rajasthan on Wheels or Palace on Wheels-2, an epitome of luxury, royalty, pleasure, wonder and so on. "It is the latest version of Palace on Wheels with better facilities," general manager of Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation (RTDC) VK Sharma told TOI on Monday.
Sharma, along with RTDC chairman-cum-managing director Dr Manjeet Singh, was on a two-day visit to the city. They held a meeting with the officials of UP Tourism to discuss the plan and also watched the grand Ganga Arati on Monday evening. "We have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the UP Tourism to provide better facilities to the visiting tourists," he said.
According to him, the Royal Rajasthan on Wheels is a step ahead of the Palace on Wheels, which ranks among the top luxury trains of the world. As compared to the Palace on Wheels, the Royal Rajasthan on Wheels offers more amenities to its passengers. More modern facilities have been introduced in this train to give passengers a feeling of royalty. The 82-seat capacity train has 22 royal compartments with two super deluxe and 39 deluxe suits with other facilities like bar and library.
