The revival of corporate business once again has brought smiles back on the faces of the travel houses, who are reporting increase in bookings from this sector too.
Travel business was first to be hit as the global turmoil started meandering across the world, making businesses vulnerable. As per spokesman of Thomas Cook, one of the travel companies in India offering wide range of travel-related services which includes , Corporate Travel and leisure travel, travel is discretionary fund and is first in the list to be impacted if business goes awry.
With gloomy outlook in wake of slowdown in the world economy, the corporate really had put a check on this discretionary fund and there were not much of options left in the corporate tourism.
But now the things have started shaping better. Companies across various sectors posting healthy results is just an indication towards resurgence in economy, as travel business is looking to bask in the glory.
The spokesman adds Meeting, Incentive, Conference and Exhibition (MICE) tourism has really started picking up as company reports Overall business growth of 35 per cent year on year (y-o-y) basis".
Locations like Spain, Portugal and Turkey are becoming favourite among the MICE travelers.
Gurinder Bawa, Business Head (Chandigarh) of, maintains business from corporate is 30% up compared to previous year.
