In a recent development, Adventure Tour Operators Association of India (ATOAI) has entered into a partnership with US-based Adventure Travel Trade Association (ATTA) under its Association Partnership initiative. ATTA Association Partnership initiative was conceived by the Association in 2007 and comprises of 25 members from across the globe. This partnership with ATTA will benefit ATOAI members as it will offer immense networking opportunities, chance to tap new source markets and allow them to tap the Indian outbound adventure segment effectively.
The Association Partnership initiative helps tourism professionals on six continents to improve cooperation within the specialised adventure sector of the travel and leisure industry. The initiative also benefits the association members to improve intelligence gathering and sharing on critical matters such as Sustainable Tourism, best practices, trends and research, marketing, risk management and matters essential to raising the quality and professionalism of the industry. “Adventure travel is one of the few niche segments not severely hit by the recent world economic slowdown. Joining hands with ATTA will give ATOAI members a huge advantage and will strengthen the networking drives and learning initiatives worldwide,” stated Tejbir Singh Anand, President, ATOAI.
Commenting on the benefits of partnering with ATTA, Akshay Kumar, General Secretary, ATOAI said, “The partnership will benefit our members to not only tap new inbound tourists but also help them tap the outbound market. It will also help members to get acquainted with the best practices that are followed in the international markets.” According to Shannon Stowell, President, ATTA, ATOAI can create awareness and provide insight and expertise on a global level concerning adventure tourism impact and potential of India.
