You can now have a wonderful time together with your companion in a house boat nearer home. The tourism department of Union Territory of Dadra & Nagar Haveli plans to float five house boats in the Daman Ganga reservoir near Dudhani village of Nagar Haveli.
Dudhani is a tourist resort with bars and restaurants, facilities for water sport activities, shikara rides in Daman Ganga etc.
Tourism department director A D Nikam said if the tourists opt for a planned package, then they would be accorded a traditional welcome by the local tribal groups, served special energy meals and given traditional massage with natural oil. Besides, tourist couples can depend on folk music and mild alcoholic drinks from mud vessels while in the house boat to have the best of times of their lives together in between the sparkling water below and bright stars in the sky. The fact that the house boats will be without the facilities of television or any means of communication, one can totally surrender himself to the nature.
Nikam informed that at present they have ordered one 150 feet long house boat, which would have two luxury bedrooms for two couples, a seating room with deck, a pantry and a mini bar. In all probability, the house boat concept could be officially launched on September 25, 2010 which happens to be World Tourism Day, said Peter Macwan, assistant director, tourism, Dadra & Nagar Haveli.
