The Delhi government has decided that Blueline buses will not be allowed to ply on routes around the Commonwealth Games venues from September 15 to October 30. While the Delhi government had earlier planned to phase out the buses by the Games and replace them with low-floor DTC buses, the project could now be executed in time. Delhi Transport Minister Arvinder Singh Lovely said routes of 1,300 buses will be diverted and only low-floor buses of DTC will be allowed to move around the Games venues.
T3’s domestic services could be delayed: DIAL
Still grappling with teething troubles after the launch of international flights from the new integrated Terminal 3 of the Indira Gandhi International Airport, the Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) hinted on Monday that the shifting of domestic airlines might get delayed due to the ongoing construction activity. “As of now, we would like to shift domestic operations by August 27, but the exact date will be confirmed after some time,” DIAL COO Andrew Harrison said. 80-year-old nabs pickpocket
An 80-year-old man on Monday nabbed a youth who was fleeing after allegedly stealing another’s wallet at Ajmeri Gate. Prem Kumar Khanda chased and managed to nab Bunty, who had been handed over a purse stolen by Shehzad from Kaviraj, a Nepali hotel cook. Khanda, who is also a ‘special police officer’, held on to the youth till the police arrived.
